Today I’m gonna tell you about a time when my dad gave me an Ipad, which was a technological device that I desired to possess.
I still remember vividly that it was 2 years ago when I was a fresh graduate. At that time, I was looking for a job as an educational curriculum developer. I applied to around 15 companies and I didn’t receive any replies from 14 companies. As you may know, I felt stuck and depressed. I started doubting myself that I wasn’t competent enough even though I put a lot of effort into preparing my résumé. I didn’t tell my parents about that because I was afraid of disappointing them.
Luckily, I received the interview letter from the last company which was also the most fast-moving and dynamic one. I also passed the interview with great impressions. I just showed the recruiter how passionate and genuine I was. I told my dad and he took me to an Apple store nearby and bought me an Ipad.
Even though that was indeed a material present, its sentimental value was more important to me. What I mean is that it’s really convenient for my work and study so that I could reach further in my career path and personal development. For example, it’s easy for me to take notes and highlight key vocabularies when I was studying. Besides, I can do tasks , join meetings or read books with thousands of pages on an Ipad. No words can describe how happy I was when receiving such a gift. I would say that I feel blessed and grateful for having my family members who are always beside me when I have ups and downs.

2.1. What is the relationship between shopping and the economy of your country?
Well, there’s no doubt that there’s a close connection between shopping and the national economy. You know, when consumerism increases, there needs to be an increase in production and manufacturing to meet the demand of customers. This has a positive impact on the economy as more labor is needed in factories. This reduces poverty and unemployment rates so people can make a living by themselves without depending on financial support from the government. Moreover, shops and enterprises can pay more taxes so that more money could be spent on providing learning facilities for students or enhancing conditions of hospitals. This leads to a substantial and thriving economy. By contrast, when people shop less, some businesses might shut down as they don’t have enough profits and money flow to continue their operations. This might lead to unemployment and people would suffer from contributing to the economy.

They understand that being knowledgeable will make them competent to land good jobs with handsome salaries in the future. On the other hand, some young people prefer splurging on luxuries and material items like clothes and jewelry just to enhance their look or show off their wealth. So my answer is that it varies from person to person.

Another instance is when I saw my workmate using an Ipad to do tasks in a very smooth way, I decided to buy one as I realized that it was really helpful for my work and study.

I believe that when people are treated well, they are more willing to make great contributions to create a thriving and flourishing society. Besides, more workforce will be needed in production to meet the demand of customers. This can eliminate poverty, unemployment and crime rates.
