Đề thi: Some countries achieve international sporting success by building specialized facilities to train top athletes only instead of providing them for everyone to use. Is it a positive or negative development?

2. Dàn bài 

Introduction:

• Giới thiệu topic: Ngày nay có nhiều nơi xây dựng các cơ sở cho vận động viên chuyên nghiệp
• Đưa ra luận điểm (thesis statement): Đây là việc tích cực. Tuy nhiên sẽ tích cực hơn nữa nếu như các cơ sở ấy được sử dụng cho đào tạo trẻ và cho thuê cho công chúng

Body 1:

• Topic sentence: Việc xây dựng những nơi chuyên biệt cho vận động viên đỉnh cao là rất cần thiết
• Giải thích: Vận động viên cần những môi trường tốt nhất thi đấu đỉnh cao
• Ví dụ: Môn bơi lội cần sử dụng những máy đo chuyên biệt để nâng cao hiệu suất

Body 2:

• Topic sentence: Tuy nhiên việc mở rộng việc sử dụng của các cơ sở này với nhiều người hơn cũng đem lại nhiều lợi ích 
• Giải thích: Đào tạo trẻ cũng rất cần thiết cho tương lai của thể thao
• Ví dụ: câu lạc bộ Barcelona sử dụng sân vận động vừa để cho cầu thủ chuyên nghiệp, vừa để đào tạo
• Giải thích: Tài chính cũng cần thiết cho thể thao
• Ví dụ: câu lạc bộ Barcelona cho thuê sân và dùng tiền cho thuê để phát triển thể thao

• Tóm lại bài, bao gồm các lập luận đã đưa ra trong thân bài

3. Sample Answer 7.0+

With the ever developing enthusiasm for sporting events worldwide, professional sportsmanship has gained much investment nowadays in terms of new infrastructure. While some may see this development as beneficial since it provides more chances for success, I think that the specialized systems of sports facilities could gain even more positive outcomes if they extend access to potential amateurs or lease out some space to maximize profit.

It is irrefutable that sports centers are vital for the development of professional athleticism. In order to achieve the best results in international competition, athletes must not only engage in the strictest training but also utilize state-of-the-art equipment that may not be available in common sporting facilities. For instance, swimmers nowadays need specialized motion and heart rate monitors to calculate the exact breaststroke to optimize for the fastest result in a race. Hence, technological advancement is as important as hard work in modern sports. In addition, all Olympics-winning countries such as the US, China, or Japan have already had well-established stadiums and facilities for pro players to practice. This is to enable athletes to produce a stable performance since the training environment should be comparable with stadiums in real-life tournaments.

Though undeniably beneficial to top-tier achievement, the current trend in building professional infrastructure could produce more positive outcomes if there are more parties involved. First of all, youth development should be another target for investment in terms of providing modern facilities. All athletic career paths begin from young amateurs, and thus, teenagers should have the same training opportunities as their professional counterparts since they are a nation’s sporting future. Barcelona’s Barca Academy for football is an excellent example for effective utilization of existing estates for training both pros and youth. During every national tournament’s off-season, the Spanish team prioritizes its home field for talent training. This results in a better usage for the stadium and enables the team to prepare for their future human resource. Furthermore, winning competitions and prizes alone cannot guarantee financial stability for any sports team. Therefore, Barcelona usually rents out its free spaces for the public to use and in return, continues to reinvest in talented athletes by raising their pay or purchasing even more training equipment.

In conclusion, establishing new sports buildings is beneficial for international success in competitions as technology these days increasingly plays an essential role in training and improving performance. However, sporting bodies should not only consider current achievement, but should also cater to potential amateurs and financial sustainability for future development.

• breaststroke: a way of swimming in which you push your arms out and then bring them back in a circle towards you while bending your knees towards your body and then kicking out
• off–season:  the time of year when a sport is not usually played
• utilization: to use something for a particular purpose
• stability: the condition of being steady and not changing
• body: a group of people who work together to do a particular job or who are together for a particular purpose
